Crisis managers and city administrators from Metro Manila and other major cities in the country and Asia gathered in the 11th Asian Crisis Management Conference (ACMC) held last July 10-11 at the Crowne Plaza Manila in Ortigas.

ACMC is a gathering of crisis managers and disaster experts from major cities in Asia to discuss about the region’s disaster preparedness.

This year’s ACMC is hosted by Metro Manila with the theme “Recovering from a Devastating Disaster and Moving Forward: A Major Asian City’s Rehabilitation and Recovery Efforts.” The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) hosted the event.

The annual ACMC is organized by the Asian Network of Major Cities 21, an organization of Asia’s largest capital cities working together on issues such as urban planning, sustainability, and crisis management.

In the conference, different member cities presented best practices and accomplishments in terms of disaster management and risk reduction.
