Cloudy weather to dampen start of Holy Week

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has warned of possible flashfloods and landslides in Northern and Central Luzon.

In its 5 a.m. advisory Friday (March 30), Pagasa said the country, particularly Northern and Central Luzon, will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over the eastern section which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Pagasa said moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast to East would prevail over Luzon and Visayas and from the Northeast to North over Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.

Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.
