State of calamity declared in Naga City due to dengue

Naga City has declared a state of calamity after its dengue cases reached an alarming rate.

Reports said there are already a total of 242 dengue cases recorded in the city from January to May this year.

The city government said there were 68 dengue cases recorded in January, 29 in February, 85 in March, 51 in April and nine in May.

Last year, at least 683 dengue cases were recorded.  Reports said the city is expecting 100 more cases this year.
