QUEZON CITY, Philippines—One of the suspects in the streak of LBC robbery in Metro Manila is already in the custody of Quezon City Police Station 10 as of Friday, November 30. Ruel Herabas was arrested after attacking the LBC branch located at Matalino Street, Barangay Central, Quezon City.
A girl was able to flee from the bank being robbed by Herabas and later sought refuge from folks outside the establishment. Two police cars were roving in the area when the robbery transpired which prompted a quick response. The police got hold of Herabas at the corner of Matalino and Sikap Streets, according gathered reports.
Police officers recovered cash amounting to Php1,651, a 0.38 caliber gun, and several bullets. They also got the surgical mask used by the suspect to cover his face.
Herabas was identified by eyewitnesses, who happen to be employees of LBC branches targeted by the former’s robbery spree. He didn’t deny the accusations against him and admitted his engagement in robbery cases since September when he got laid off.
Initial investigation revealed that more than six LBC branches have been robbed recently. Police authorities are still investigating whether or not Herabas was also the one who broke into the Las Piñas branch of the aforementioned shipping company.
With the suspect in police custody, authorities considered the LBC robbery cases closed.
