CEBU, Philippines—Robbery not only happens in commercial and financial institutions. The Office of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines in Region 7 (GSP-7) reported losing Php600,000 amount of cash from its vault at the director’s office, according to gathered reports.
The missing cash was supposed to be distributed to employees as Christmas bonus.
There were no signs indicating that the vault was opened by force, according to initial police investigation. Authorities, in effect, are looking into the case as an “inside job.”
The police learned that the numeric combination for opening the vault was only relayed to two cashiers, who are now subject to investigation.
Security guards who claimed that they didn’t notice anyone breaking into the office, as well as the caretaker and janitor, are also being investigated by the police.
The GSP-7 building is located at Camp Marina, which is an eight-hectare training camp site.
