The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday raised the alert level in Israel and the West Bank amid threats to security stemming from the continued Israel-Hamas conflict.
The DFA said the alert level in those two areas is now at “2,” or restriction phase.
“Filipinos are instructed to restrict non-essential movements, avoid open spaces, and prepare for evacuation,” it said.
Alert Level 2 is issued when there are “real threats to the life, security, and property of Filipinos arising from internal disturbance, instability, and external threats.”
Last Saturday, alert level 4 or mandatory repatriation was raised in Gaza. Philippine Embassies in Cairo, Tel Aviv, and Amman are ready to repatriate Filipinos from Gaza in coordination with concerned authorities of Israel, Egypt, Jordan and the United Nations and other International Organizations in Gaza.
Meanwhile, the DFA said it continues to monitor developments in the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Also last weekend, the DFA raised the alert level in Libya to “4,” due to the unstable political and security situation there.
Under Alert Level 4, the Philippine government undertakes evacuation of about 13,000 Filipino nationals there as soon as possible while no Filipino national will be allowed to travel to Libya.
Filipinos in Libya are encouraged to contact the Philippine Embassy in Tripoli for instructions regarding mass evacuation.
