The abandoned suitcase found at the corner of Makati Ave. and Paseo de Roxas this morning contains an assortment of tools for computer repair and not a bomb as earlier suspected, the Makati Police Explosives and Ordnance Division (EOD) said.
A security guard in the area reported the abandoned suitcase to the city police department after it was found near a convenience store at 11 a.m. today.
The Makati EOD opened the suitcase using a ‘water charge’ and found various tools inside.
The incident caused the busy intersection to be briefly closed off to traffic but roads were reopened after the bomb threat was ruled out.
Authorities said the incident was under further investigation. CCTV footage is also being reviewed to determine who left the suitcase in the area.
