Melinda Magsino, a 41-year-old former Philippine Daily Inquirer correspondent was shot dead at noontime Monday, police said.
According to an Inquirer.net report, initial investigation revealed that Magsino was walking along a street in Purok 2, Barangay Balagtas at around 12:10 p.m. when an unidentified gunman aboard a motorcycle shot her.
She sustained a gunshot wound on the head and died on the spot.
Authorities are still verifying the identity of the suspect and the motive behind the killing.
