A woman was hurt when one of two grenades lobbed in front of the Navotas City Jail exploded Thursday morning, reports said.
Navotas City Mayor John Ray Tiangco said an unidentified man hurled the two grenades in the area behind the Navotas police station around 4 a.m., damaging the signage in front of the city jail.
Tiangco said the victim, identified as Agnes Cruz, sustained a foot injury and was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.
The city’s bomb squad was able to defuse the other bomb, preventing further damage.
Authorities are reviewing footage from closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras near the area to aid in the investigation.
