MIMAROPA Remains Peaceful as Security Measures Prevent Election-Related Incidents

The MIMAROPA region continues to experience a peaceful election period, with no election-related incidents reported, according to the Police Regional Office (PRO) MIMAROPA. Since the activation of the Regional Election Monitoring Action Center (REMAC) in January, authorities have conducted over 10,400 COMELEC checkpoints across the region, ensuring strict compliance with election security measures.

While four gun ban violations have been recorded—resulting in the confiscation of 16 firearms and ammunition and the arrest of three civilians and one foreign national—no uniformed personnel have been apprehended. These efforts highlight the effectiveness of security enforcement in deterring illegal activities.

The strong collaboration between PRO MIMAROPA, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and other agencies has played a crucial role in maintaining peace and security. This proactive approach not only ensures a smooth election process but also enhances public confidence in law enforcement and electoral integrity in the region.
