The Philippine National Police (PNP) has activated the Special Task Force-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (STF-BARMM) to ensure peace and order during the 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE). This move aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to safeguard the electoral process and prevent election-related violence.
The STF-BARMM is a collaborative effort involving the PNP, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and the Commission on Elections (COMELEC). By deploying security forces and intensifying intelligence operations, the task force aims to deter threats, secure polling centers, and protect voters from intimidation.
This initiative follows the recent Political Candidates Forum and Peace Covenant Signing, reinforcing the commitment of stakeholders to uphold a safe, transparent, and fair election. By fostering inter-agency coordination, the STF-BARMM strengthens public confidence, ensuring that every vote counts in an atmosphere of security and order.
As the 2025 elections approach, the proactive measures of the PNP and its partners play a crucial role in maintaining stability in BARMM, demonstrating that a united front is essential for a peaceful democratic process
