NCRPO Deploys 5,000+ Police Officers for Safe School Opening in Metro Manila

As the new school year begins on June 16, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has deployed 5,344 police personnel under Oplan Balik-Eskwela to ensure the safety and security of students, parents, and school staff across Metro Manila.

NCRPO Chief PMGen Anthony Aberin said the initiative aligns with the directive of PNP Chief PGen Nicolas D. Torre III, emphasizing swift and responsive service with a strict five-minute emergency response time.

Security coverage spans 1,206 public and private schools, with 1,429 Police Assistance Desks (PADs) strategically placed near campuses. These are backed by specialized units, including Tactical Motorcycle Riding Units (TMRU), covert teams, and EOD/K9 units for quick response and crime deterrence. To ensure round-the-clock coverage, 1,135 mobile patrol units and 1,731 foot patrol officers have been mobilized across the five police districts and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB).

NCRPO also committed to sustaining its Recalibrated Police Visibility Program, maintaining heightened police presence in key public areas even beyond the school opening period.
