3 Gasoline Boys Dead in Gas Station Robbery

NUEVA ECIJA, Philippines—Evolution Gas Station located along the National Road in Barangay Del Pilar, Nueva Ecija was robbed by unidentified armed men, according to recent reports.

A shooting incident ensued which resulted to the death of three gasoline boys. Victims were identified as Joseph Ulep, Junjun Ulep, and Raymart Tapalia.

Gas station owner Geric Eugenio narrated that four armed entered the establishment and fired at the employees’ quarters where the victims were staying amidst the ongoing robbery. The suspects tried to break into the gas station’s office, but Eugenio was able to grab his gun and fire at the suspects. However, he failed to get hold of the robbers because the latter immediately fled from the crime scene, along with an unidentified amount of cash.

Based on initial investigation, the suspects boarded an escape vehicle described by law enforcement authorities as a black van. The police also recovered several bullets fired by the suspects using different calibers of guns.

Eugenio also mentioned in some reports that there has been a robbery attempt on the said establishment two weeks ago. He also received several death threats from the suspects.

Meanwhile, another robbery incident had transpired in Nueva Ecija almost a week ago involving members of the notorious Azarcon crime syndicate that assaulted and robbed Councilor Gaudencio Fernandez but were later killed by law enforcement authorities in a shootout in Barangay Tugatog.
