Three soldiers were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off as their Army truck was passing by a road section in Barangay Bacsayan in Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur on Thursday.
The wounded soldiers belong to the Army’s 71st Infantry Division.
Initial investigation indicates that the truck was heading for the Army’s 81st Infantry Battalion camp when the blast happened.
The police said the IED may have been placed on a tree and set to detonate once the Army truck passes by.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
