Another round of a crime of passion in an SM mall has alerted the public after two male minors were involved in a shooting incident in SM City Pampanga.
Both minors involved in the SM shooting incident have died. The younger minor at 3 p.m. Wednesday while the older teenager followed as reported in nighttime broadcast of the same day. The death of the 13-year-old boy was confirmed by Dr. Eric Salas of San Fernandino Hospital, the victim’s attending physician. The family of the younger minor has decided to remove the teenager’s life support and allowed to give away his vital organs. The Wednesday’s midnight reports claimed that the 16-year-old minor has died and his family has also expressed its willingness to donate his organs.
According to Superintendent Wilson Santos, Mexico municipal police chief, in a related report, the victims aged 13 and 16 are allegedly “lovers.” One is a Bulacan resident while the other is a native of Pampanga. Both victims sustained gunshot wounds in the head.
Santos said that the victims were found lying on the mall’s ground floor, Building 3, near the Astrovision area when the security guards and mall passers-by heard two consecutive gunshots before 12 noon.
The victims were immediately brought to the Jose B. Lingad Hospital. The younger minor was sent to San Fernandino Hospital’s intensive care unit.
The municipal police chief denied earlier reports of the involvement of a third party in the shooting incident. One victim, reportedly a gay, allegedly carried a .22 caliber revolver and this was recovered from him in the crime scene.
Investigators claimed this case was apparently a lovers’ quarrel incident that led to a bloody encounter.
Santos said a “suicide note” was found from one of the victims, with statements that “he is willing to die together” with the other victim.
Earlier, a shooting incident killed two people inside the premises of the lower ground of SM North Edsa in Quezon City. A desperate wife killed her estranged husband and a security guard on-duty as part of her revenge after being abandoned for another woman.
Amid the two in a row mall tragedies, Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda has called all the shopping centers’ management and security agencies to impose stricter measures in ensuring security and safety of the public.
