MANILA — Three armed men robbed a dental clinic in Quezon City last Saturday. Police said the incident took place shortly before 4 p.m. in Barangay Immaculate Concepcion.
In an Inquirer report, Senior Inspector Romulo Terrado of the Quezon City Police District Station 10 said the robbers took off with the clinic’s earnings of PhP20,000 in cash. The culprits also took the mobile phones of three patients.
According to the report, the two men entered the clinic and posed as patients while their cohort stood outside and acted as a lookout. After a few minutes, the robbers pulled out their guns and declared a holdup, taking cell phones and cash. The two men fled, along with the lookout.
Last August, the police presented Albert Galang de la Cruz as the primary suspect in a spate of robberies on dental clinics in Metro Manila. For three months, De la Cruz preyed on women dentists, taking their valuables before molesting and, in some cases, even raping them.
According to the police, De la Cruz later confessed that he was behind 19 of the 23 robberies recorded by the police, two of which he carried out with the help of his cohort, Ronald Policarpio, who was also arrested.
