Two billion pesos worth of illegal drugs were seized by multi-agency operatives of PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOFT), Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and the Bureau of Customs (BOC). The government agencies claimed that they have confiscated over 400 kilos of illegal drugs and shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) from a rented house in Sta. Monica Subdivision in Subic, Zambales.
Earlier reports from various drug enforcement units and media sources estimated the seized drugs at 200 kilos and worth one billion pesos in the streets.
The rented house has been converted into a warehouse allegedly by a Chinese national who was not around the area when six of his syndicate members were arrested while they were loading the illegal drugs into a vehicle.
AIDSOFT worked with the BOC and SBMA intelligence units for more than five months and took the opportunity to seize the items before the drugs are distributed outside Subic.
