Suspected drug lord Kerwin Espinosa is now in police custody in Abu Dhabi, PNP chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa confirmed at a press conference in Camp Crame Monday morning.

Espinosa, son of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa, Sr., was nabbed at around 2 a.m. Manila time by operatives of the Abu Dhabi police in coordination with the PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (AIDG) and the Interpol.

Dela Rosa said they received tips on Espinosa’s whereabouts in the UAE capital from Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), which led to his arrest.

The PNP chief said Espinosa will be flown back to the Philippines to face charges as soon as his extradition documents are completed.
