Asset Protection Lecture Series (APLS) Visayas and Mindanao coming soon

After the success of the Asset Protection Lecture Series (APLS) Metro Manila Edition last April 18 to 20 at The Bayleaf Intramuros, organizers are set to hold the APLS Visayas and Mindanao Editions to accommodate the demand for review and synthesis of knowledge among security and protection professionals in those regions.

The lecture series, set to be held in Cebu and Davao cities, will be staged soon, Ace B. Esmeralda, president and managing director of Ace And Associates Risk Management, Inc (AAA), said. Aside from being a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Esmeralda is a Certified Security Professional (CSP) and a Certified Campus Security Manager (CCSM).

AAA and ASIS International-Philippine Chapter presented the Asset Protection Lecture Series, Metro Manila Edition, last April 18 at The Bayleaf Intramuros. SecurityMatters was the event manager.

Attended by forty security and protection professionals from several leading companies and government agencies, the three-day lecture series gave participants new tools and skills for higher-level responsibilities.

The APLS Metro Manila Edition was also designed as a review course for those aspiring to become Certified Protection Professional (CPP) of ASIS International. The CPP designation is recognized as the highest global distinction for today’s security professionals. To become a CPP, one must demonstrate in-depth knowledge and management skills in providing advanced security solutions.

Those who are not yet qualified for CPP benefited from the lectures from the country’s CPPs who gave insights based on best business practices of multinational companies, government, and other private and public institutions. Aside from Esmeralda, the other lecturers were Col. (Ret.) Dencio Acop, CPP, PhD.; Col. (Ret.) Mateo Luga, CPP, MBA; Mario Manipol Jr., CPP, CSP; Edwin Molina, CPP, CSP; and James Oliver, CPP.

Others who found the program very useful included security practitioners who wanted to review fundamental concepts of security and managers who have recently assumed security responsibilities, as well as individuals seeking more information about the security industry.

Esmeralda said the APLS will be bringing the lectures to Visayas and Mindanao so that security and protection professionals in the regions don’t have to go to Manila or abroad for their review and training.

“Following the success of the APLS Metro Manila Edition, we are going to go to the Visayas and Mindanao to provide the demand for knowledge of our security and protection professionals there,” Esmeralda said.

The subjects covered during the lecture series were Security Principles and Practices, Business Principles and Practices, Personal Security, Physical Security, Information Security, Emergency Practices and Investigations. #
