Pipe burst in Las Piñas City

A major water pipe of Maynilad Water Services, Inc. in Las Pinas City has burst after running vehicles unintentionally opened the lid of the manhole covering it, reports said.

The burst pipe, situated in Barangay Pamplona Uno, caused a tall fountain of water in the middle of the road.

As result, Las Pinas City will be experiencing water shortage as well as flooding in some parts.

Christine Acosta, leak detection officer of Maynilad Water Services, Inc., said the valve that influences the water line will be shut off to turn down the water pressure and allow the contractors to perform the necessary actions.

Baranggay officials have already informed home and business owners around the area. Meanwhile, areas affected by weakened water supply will include Alabang Zapote Road from Balaraw to SM Southmall, Upper CAA, Admiral, Mother Earth, Ema Palico, and BF Resort.
