Cessna Plane Crash Kills Pilot, Student

A pilot and his student died after their Cessna trainer plane crashed at the end of the runway of Plaridel airport Tuesday afternoon.

Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported that the C152 trainer aircraft, with registry number RO-C8691, crash-landed at 4:46 p.m. in Barangay Agnaya, Plaridel carrying pilot-in-command Capt. Arthur Rebollido, 40, and student pilot James Oquialda, 24.

The CAAP rescue team brought Rebollido to Bulacan Medical Center in Malolos City but he was declared dead on arrival.

Oquialda, meanwhile, sustained a fractured skull and was rushed to Peralta Hospital in Poblacion, Plaridel, Bulacan but was later transferred to Our Lady of Mercy in Barangay Longos in Pulilan, where he died.

SPO1 Emison Palaganas of the Aviation Security Group detailed at the Plaridel Airport said that the plane made a “touch and go” training along the runway at around 4 p.m. but it lost power and crashed while going up.

The plane was a total wreck when it was found.

Investigation is still underway.
