CIDG Nabs Drug Syndicate Members in Dumaguete City

Two members of a notorious drug ring were nabbed by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Dumaguete City on Monday.

By virtue of search warrants issued by a local court, a CIDG team led by Chief Inspector Alladin Dingal arrested Rose Marie Melon and Jovie Sendiong, alleged members of the Melon Drug Group.

Seized from the suspects were five packs of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P2.1 million, two digital weighing scales, assorted cellphones, drug paraphernalia, and P36,000 cash.

CIDG spokesperson Chief Inspector Elizabeth Jasmin said Melon and Sendiong are active and known members of the drug syndicate operating in the city.
