Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Region 7 arrested four men and recovered P1-million worth of shabu and several firearms in separate raids over the weekend.

Arrested were Edgar Padillo, Ernesto Mamalia, Samuel Villanueva, and  Dexter Pasaje.

Padillo and Mamalia were arrested by the team of Chief Insp. Rene Kyamko in Padillo’s house in Barangay Tubod-Digoan, Dumanjug town in Cebu City. Three caliber .45 handguns and a fragmentation grenade were seized from the two.

Villanueva, a suspected drug pusher, was arrested by the team of Supt. Fermin Armendarez III, Deputy Chief of CIDG 7, in Barangay Labangon, Cebu City. Confiscated from him were several packs of shabu and a gun.

Pasaje was arrested by the same team in his residence in Sitio Mariz, Barangay Kahumay-humayan, Danao City.

Some 16 assorted firearms, magazines, a barrel for a caliber .45 pistol, a frame for .357 gun, assorted gun-making tools, and ammunition believed to be worth P195,000 were seized from Pasaje’s house.

Three of his companions were able to flee when the raiding team arrived.

Another suspect, Christopher Luna, eluded arrest by jumping over the perimeter fence of his house in Barangay Perrelos, Carcar City.

Confiscated from Luna’s house were packs of shabu and a caliber .45 pistol. Luna was involved in gun-for-hire activities. He was charged for allegedly killing an American national in 2007 but the case was dismissed.

The simultaneous operations were part of CIDG 7’s “One Time, Big Time” campaign.
