Death toll reaches 976

The number of dead due to tropical storm Sendong has reached 976, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Wednesday (December 21).

As of 5 a.m. Wednesday, the number of missing has dwindled down to 46, those rescued or have survived, 432.

The total number of population affected in Regions VI, VII, IX, X, XI, Caraga and ARMM has reached 65,067 families or 348,749 persons.

The total number of population inside and outside 60 evacuation centers is 49,441 families or 276,400 persons.

The estimated cost of damages to infrastructure, agriculture and school buildings have amounted to PhP999,946,415.00.
