The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Service Administration (Pagasa) said that as of 7 a.m. Thursday (June 28), tropical Storm ‘Dindo’ has been estimated at 240 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan.

‘Dindo’ has maximum winds of 75 kph and is moving west northwest at 19 kph approaching extreme northern Luzon.

The weather system is to bring stormy weather with rough seas to the provinces in Northern Luzon while the rest of Luzon and Visayas are to have heavy rains because of a monsoon enhanced by typhoon ‘Dindo’. Mindanao is expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolate rain and thunderstorms.

Pagasa placed ten provinces under storm signal no. 2  namely  Isabela, Kalinga, Apayao, Mt. Province, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Abra, Calayan, Batanes and Babuyan group of islands.

Meanwhile, La Union, Ilocos Sur, Aurora, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and Benguet were placed under storm signal no. 1.

Small fishing boats and other seecrafts are not advised to venture out into the Seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon, and Western Visayas due to weather conditions.

Residents in low lying areas are advised to be aware of possible landslides and flashfloods.
