Don Mariano Transit Bus Franchise Revoked

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) revoked the franchise of Don Mariano Transit because of multiple violations.

On December 16, a Don Mariano Transit bus fell off the Skyway in Parañaque City. The incident left at least 18 people dead and several others injured. After the incident, the LTFRB issued a 30-day preventive suspension on Don Mariano Transit to investigate if the company committed violations.

Inquirer Online reported that violations include the illegal use of and change of bus chassis without LTFRB permission, and the failure to diligently hire bus drivers.

Also, buses from Don Mariano Transit have been involved in several incidents in 2013.

The revocation of the license covers only one franchise of Don Mariano Transit covering 21 buses.
