Dump Truck Incident Paralyzes Traffic in Cainta

A dump truck raised its tipping body while traveling along Felix Ave., Cainta, Rizal. It took down telephone wires and several poles and spilled its load of sand along the 4-lane road. This paralyzed traffic for over an hour.

An incident involving a dump truck has paralyzed traffic in front of the entrance of Kasibulan Village along Imelda Avenue (Felix Ave) in Cainta, Rizal.

At around 4:00 p.m. today, a dump truck carrying sand and traveling along Felix Ave. accidentally had its dumping bed raised. The raised dumping bed hit several low-lying telephone and cable TV wires in front of Kasibulan Village. The collision took down a concrete pole, telephone wires, and a lamp post which blocked the entire four-lane road. Also, the sand carried by the truck scattered along the road.

A bystander was hit by a fallen cable but only suffered a minor bruise. No one else was hurt during the incident. Cainta Police are finding out who is responsible for the incident and took in for questioning the driver and his companion.

The incident paralyzed vehicle traffic from Cainta Junction north bound up to Kasibulan Village and from Sta. Lucia Mall south bound up to Kasibulan Village. This forced commuters to walk. The road in front of Kasibulan village was partially opened by 5:00 p.m., almost an hour after the incident.

Clearing of sand and fallen cables are still ongoing as of posting time. Traffic is expected lighten along Felix Ave.
