An explosion occurred in a vacant lot in in Makati City Monday afternoon (January 23), breaking some glass panels in a nearby building and damaging a parked car.

Reports said the incident took place along Dela Costa Street in Barangay Salcedo Village.

Although the explosion happened in the country’s financial center, the blast, nevertheless, took place on a public holiday (Chinese New Year), when offices were closed.

Police are investigating the nature of the explosion. No one has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.
