Firecracker-related Injuries Over 1,000–NDRRMC

Firecracker-related injuries have increased to 1,130, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) in various reports.

On Thursday, January 3, the NDRRMC said, of these cases, 390 were recorded in Metro Manila, 273 in Ilocos Region, 133 in Central Luzon, 47 in Cagayan, 91 in Calabarzon, 50 in the Zamboanga Peninsula, 45 in Western Visayas, 24 in Bicol, 23 in the Cordilleras, 18 in Central Visayas, 13 in MIMAROPA, nine in SOCCSKSARGEN, four in Eastern Visayas, six in Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, and four in Northern Mindanao.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health has disclosed its own data showing that fireworks-related injuries have swelled from 697, as reported last Wednesday, to 789.
