The Philippines’ first and only industry magazine that deals with safety and security matters pervading the environment today.

It’s more fun in the Philippines, but is it safe?

This question, more than ever, comes to mind as two European, Swiss Elwood Horn and Dutch Lorenzo Vinciguerra, were kidnapped in Tawi-tawi last February 1, along with Filipino wildlife photographer Ivan Sarenas.

While Sarenos, who a bird enthusiast, like the two Europeans, was able to escape by jumping off the kidnappers’ boat, the fate of the foreigner is not bright. A week has passed and authorities have neither placed the whereabouts of the victims nor identified their abductors.

Now comes the Department of Tourism somewhat blaming the foreigners for ignoring the travel advisories of their governments.
