Six persons were reported dead following the onslaught of Typhoon LABUYO (UTOR). The storm also left two provinces and several municipalities in Northern Luzon under state of calamity.

Typhoon Labuyo made landfall over Casiguran, Aurora in the morning of August 12 and crossed Northern Luzon until it left the landmass in the afternoon. All storm warnings were lifted by the evening of the same day.

As of 5:00 a.m. of August 14, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported six dead, six injured, and five still missing. Three of the missing were fishermen off at sea.

NDRRMC accounted over 41,000 families were affected by Labuyo in Regions I, II, III, V, and CAR. More than 3,200 families or 15,000 people evacuated because of incidents and hazards brought by flash floods and landslides.

Provinces of Aurora and Quirino and the municipalities of Candelaria, Sta Cruz, and Masinloc in Zambales were placed under state of calamity as of posting time.
