A Low Pressure Area (LPA) continues to hover over the country, bringing a brief lull from the summer heat.

As of 8 p.m. Tuesday (March 20), the LPA was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 70 kilometers north of Dumaguete City.

According to weather officials, this weather system will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Northern Mindanao.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) warned residents living in low-lying areas and along mountain slopes are advised to be on alert for possible occurrence of flashfloods and landslides.

The LPA has caused flight cancellations from Manila to Bicol.
