MANILA, Philippines—Eight hours prior to the scheduled launch of the South Korean rocket, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) is on red alert, deploying rescue teams in Bicol, Visayas, and Mindanao, according to gathered reports.

While NDRRMC Chief Benito Ramos believes that local fishermen will comply with the fishing ban, they promise to look after the affected areas of Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Dinagat Islands, Northern Samar, Siargao, Sorsogon, Southern Leyte, Surigao del Sur, and Surigao del Norte, particularly during crucial hours from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. today, November 29.

NDRRMC strictly maintains the “no fish zone,” “no fly zone,” and “no sail zone” orders to affected areas.

On Wednesday, the NDRRMC was on blue alert with 50% of its officials ready for deployment on their respective posts.

After a series of postponed rocket launch, South Korea is expected to send Korea Space Launch Vehicle-1 (KSLV-1) to outer space around 5:00 p.m. (Manila time).

Based on previous calculation, the first rocket booster will fall 450 nautical miles of Palanan, Isabela, while the second booster is expected to follow at 340 nautical miles of Eastern Samar, various sources said. Rocket debris may fall over Surigao, too.
