Over 10,000 Families Affected by Maguindanao Floods —NDRRMC

The continuous rains and week-long flooding in several areas in Maguindanao province have affected more than 10,000 families, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Thursday.

In its June 19 update, the NDRRMC reported that 10,437 families had been affected by the flooding in six of the 12 affected towns as of Wednesday.

Number of affected families per municipality:

Mamasapano – 2,000

Rajah Buayan – 755

Datu Salibo – 300

Kabuntalan – 3,000

Sultan Barongis – 1,514

Datu Abdullah Sangki – 773

Northern Kabuntalan – 2,095

Other towns affected by the flooding include Sharif Saydona, Datu Piang, Kabuntalan, Ampatuan, Pagalungan, and Datu Montawal.

While there were no casualties and evacuation reported, an assessment is still being conducted in other affected municipalities, the NDRRMC said.
