Regular Monthly Meeting and Fellowship of ASIS International – Philippine Chapter on August 29, 2012

You are once again invited to the Regular Monthly Meeting and Fellowship of ASIS International – Philippine Chapter on August 29, 2012 (Wednesday) at Wyeth – Philippines, Inc., 2236 Chino Roces Avenue (formerly Pasong Tamo), Makati City. Our keynote speaker is Augustus Caesar ‘Ace’ Esmeralda, MM, CPP, who will speak on the topic: ‘Principles of Disasters and Disaster Management’.
Ace is a familiar figure at ASIS. A past chapter chairman and the current ARVP of Region 033, he now runs business risk consultancy Ace and Associates, and local publisher and event organizer SecurityMatters. Ace had served in the army and practiced in the security industry until he became head of regional security for the Shangri-la Hotel Group. A Certified Protection Professional, he holds degrees from the Philippine Military Academy and the Asian Institute of Management and had attended the National Defense College of the Philippines.

Our keynote speaker will talk about a topic that is very relevant to everyone in the Philippines today. We have just gone through the very unusual monsoon rains that brought more rainwater than ‘Ondoy’ thus flooding Metro Manila and its surrounding areas for days between August 7 and today. There are reports indicating that some of the flooded areas continue to be inundated by water. Stories about security managers directing ERTs to rescue trapped colleagues are pretty common these days. I, for one, had to rescue twelve colleagues and their families trapped in Marikina, Pasig, Malabon, Navotas, Manila, Rizal, Quezon City, and Pampanga until Saturday, August 11th.

Registration for the meeting begins at 6:00PM. There will be the usual assessment fee of PhP500.00, inclusive of dinner and certificate of attendance. The meeting is open to both members and non-members of ASIS. Attire is smart casual.

We ask those who wish to park their vehicles inside the Wyeth premises to please send in details about your car such as plate number, car model/make, and other pertinent information to Alice Jimenez (Contact No: +63932-877-7380) at Wyeth Security Group for access control purposes. From your vehicles, please enter the Wyeth building through the main entrance where you will be guided to the third level venue (Wyeth Academy of the Philippines).

We look forward to seeing you again for another get-together of meaningful education, training, and networking. See you there!

Best regards,
Dennis Acop, CPP
