Security Guard Shot Twice for Reprimanding E-gamer

A security guard was shot dead after reprimanding an e-gamer in Dasmariñas, Cavite, GMA News reported on Thursday.

The report showed a CCTV footage where the guard, identified as Joel Lugasan, was seen reprimanding a man who was smoking inside the supposedly non-smoking area.

In the video, the suspect was shown ignoring the Lugusan and moving to another room.

Lugasan followed him to again tell him off and the two went on to have a heated verbal exchange.

The next scene showed the suspect turning his back on Lugasan and drawing his gun with the holster falling on the floor.

Lagusan was able to run a few steps away from the suspect before he was shot twice. He died on the spot.

The suspect, later identified as Marvin Camaña, a resident of Barangay Salawag in Dasmariñas, was seen on video escaping and rushing to the exit along with the frightened customers.

According to the report, Camaña has been previously banned from other e-games establishments for alleged bad behavior. He remains at large.

Lugasan’s family is calling on authorities to expedite investigation.
