The Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) has installed at least 52 closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras in 22 strategic locations along the Bataan highway as part of the security preparations for the Asia-Pacific Economic Conference (APEC) meeting in Bagac next week.

In a report, MBDA general manager Carlos Pizarro Jr. said the cameras are focused along the provincial highway from the Pampanga-Bataan boundary to the convention venue, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar.

Pizarro said the MBDA’s One Bataan Command Center in Orani will take charge of the 24-hour monitoring of the peace and order situation at the convention site and respond to problems and concerns during the APEC meeting.

Meanwhile, Bataan Governor Albert Garcia said the province is ready to host the APEC Workshop on Fiscal Management through Transparency and Reforms and Senior Finance Officials Meeting.

Garcia said security measures, such as monitoring centers and checkpoints, are in place to ensure the safety of everyone, especially the APEC delegates.

The regional leadership convention will be held at Hotel de Oriente in Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar.

Hotel de Oriente is a replica of the destroyed Hotel de Oriente in Binondo, Manila. It has a 1,200 seating capacity.
