The world has been caught in the grip of terror incidents—from those unleashed by the Islamic State and their sympathizers, and other organized terror groups, to so-called lone wolves. In light of this new world order marked by terror events, SecurityMatters™ Magazine, in partnership with Global E2C Singapore, is inviting all security professionals to the Certified Anti-Terrorism Specialist (CATS) program, slated for 4–6 October 2017 at the EDSA Shangri-La Manila. The CATS program will be managed by Ace And Associates Risk Management, Inc. (AAA), premier asset protection and security risk management firm.
The Certified Anti-Terrorism Specialist (CATS) Program provides participants with an in-depth understanding of the strategic, operational, and tactical awareness of international terrorism terrains; and unveils anti-terrorism measures with considerations for the development of preparedness, plans with mitigation, and practices in the face of imminent terrorist attacks. CATS will equip security professionals with the precise skill sets and the latest in anti-terrorism measures to fully ensure the safety of both people and property.

OVERVIEW: The Certified Anti-Terrorism Specialist (CATS) Program
CATS is taught at the unclassified level and provides an introduction to international terrorism with its defined similarities and differences in the terror groups, their origins, and development to date. Participants will learn about the structure, operational capabilities and threats posed by terrorist groups as well as their intents and tactics at regional and country specific. Widely known and active international terrorist organizations will be discussed with a focus on their ideology, mindset, and modus operandi. Participants will be briefed on the latest attack tactics and methods that have been deployed at varied locations. The lessons learned will be core mitigation towards enhancing protective measures and hardening of security layers.
Today, any and every place of convergence of people have become probable sites for terror attacks. A determined, radicalized terrorist or a lone wolf who is willing to give up his life is almost impossible to prevent anywhere. Certified expert-trainers will coach participants to learn and understand scenarios from the point of view of a perpetrator—as a means of viable prediction—and apply this assessment in creating security systems: Delegates can identify the signals and signs of visible lack of security, and points of exposure and vulnerability.
The CATS program is registered with and accredited by the Chartered International Institute of Security and Crisis Management (CIISCM), the first and only independent body representing security professionals in the Asia Pacific region. The CIISCM is committed to promoting the highest levels of integrity and professionalism within the industry by developing an Asia-wide industry standard for accrediting security and crisis management professionals and security training programs and courses. Participants of the CATS program will receive certification directly from CIISCM and accorded Subscriber level membership to the institute.
