Traveling during the holidays

If you are going away for a vacation don’t tell neighbors and strangers that no one is going to be at home. It’s better to get someone stay such as a relative or a trusted friend.

If you are driving, make sure your car is in good condition.
Make sure all car doors are locked and the windows are rolled up.

Keep an emergency kit in the trunk of your car. These can include water, reflectors, flashlight, batteries, screwdrivers, pliers, rope, duct tape, jumper cables, toilet paper, tire inflator, raincoat, toilet paper, towels, and oil.

Do not take your eyes off the road. Avoid texting or using your cellphone.
Don’t leave your things in the car, especially when your windows are not tinted and everything can be seen from the outside. Store all your things in the trunk.
