Woman drowns in Camarines Sur

One woman was swept away in Camarines Sur following non-stop rains brought by a low pressure area (LPA) located east of Mindanao, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Monday (February 13).

Lilia Alarcio, 18, from barangay Munti Calbaryo in Buhi drowned after being swept by raging waters while crossing the Buhi River. Her body has been recovered. Buhi River has overflowed but no evacuations have been performed according to the report.

As of 2 a.m. today (February 13), the LPA was spotted approximately 70 kilometers east of Dipolog City.

The LPA has brought moderate to strong winds blowing from northeast to east over Luzon and Visayas coming from northeast and southeast over Mindanao. It has also caused widespread rains over the country’s eastern section.
