A series of earthquakes rocked Ilocos Norte on Friday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that a 3.3-magnitude quake hit Burgos at 12 midnight. Three more quakes followed.
The highest recorded magnitude was 4.9, which struck at 3:02 a.m., 87 km northwest of Burgos, with a depth of 21 km.
Another one followed, a 4.7-magnitude quake, which hit at 3:30 a.m. It had a depth of 33 km, and was recorded 94 km northwest of Burgos.
The last quake hit at 10:48 a.m., 62 km northwest of Burgos. It was a magnitude 3.1 with a depth of 14 km.
All quakes were tectonic in origin.
No injuries or damage to property were reported and no aftershocks are to be expected, Phivolcs said.
