Tropical Storm (international name) Talim has been spotted at 580 kilometers west of extreme Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center with gustiness up to 110 kph.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the storm is moving east northeast at 15 kph and is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tomorrow afternoon or early Thursday.
It will be named “Carina” once it enters the PAR.
Pagasa said the weather disturbance will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and will bring occasional rains over Northern and Central Luzon becoming frequent rains over the western section.
Residents living in low-lying areas and along mountain slopes are advised to be on alert for possible occurrence of flashfloods and landslides.
