The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council released its latest update at 7:30 p.m. Friday, disclosing that Typhoon Gener now left 40 people dead, 34 injured, five missing, and 133 rescued.
The number of families affected in different regions in the country totaled to 135, 539 or 628,814 persons, of which 82,737 families or 380,520 persons are now being served inside and outside evacuation centers.
There are now 58 affected roads as well.
Cost of damages to infrastructure is P110,560,384.00 and to agriculture is P166,349,335.48, which totaled to P277,409,719.48.
Relief assistance provided to affected families amounted to P10,761,454.85.
The total number of damaged houses reached 4,781, of which 752 houses were totally damaged.
At around 6:00 p.m., four areas in the National Capital Region (NCR) are reported to have been flooded. Region 1 has three flooded areas; Region II has one; Region III has 38; and Region XII has one.
Distributed to different areas in Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, and Rizal were family food packs totaling to 3,124.
New LPA spotted
Typhoon Gener has already left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) today, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
It also said a low pressure area (LPA) may enter PAR Saturday night and become a storm—but it will not hit land and may only remain in PAR on Saturday for six hours.
According to weather forecasters, the new LPA—if it intensifies into a storm—will be named ‘Helen.’
