UST Student Stabbed in FEU Campus

A 20-year-old student of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) was allegedly stabbed by six students of Far Eastern University (FEU). The victim was identified as Joanne Lourdes Reyes, while the suspects’ identities are yet to be verified.

According to several news reports, the Manila Police District (MPD)-Station 4 said that the incident happened inside the FEU campus in Morayta St., Sampaloc, Manila at around 6:45 p.m. the other night.

Reyes was said to be in the FEU campus upon the invitation of her friend, an FEU student, to watch a stage play. When she was about to leave the auditorium, she was attacked and stabbed by said suspects. The suspects immediately left the crime scene after the incident.

Director Albert R. Cabasada of the Admission and External Relations Office in FEU has already provided a copy of the CCTV footage to help in the investigation to be spearheaded by Capt. Antonio Naag of the MPD-UBA (University Belt Area).

FEU is also conducting their own investigation about the incident and promised to assist the victim in her medical expenses. They are also verifying if the six suspects are in fact students in their university, because the said play was open to the public. However, they have admitted that the incident indeed happened in their campus.
