P200,000 reward up for UPLB slay suspect

LAGUNA, Philippines—A 3rd year agriculture student at the University of the Philippines-Los Baños was killed at her house in Biñan, Laguna on Monday, November 19. She was identified as Maria Victoria Reyes, 19, who was also robbed but not raped, as clarified by recent news reports.

Latest reports also said that a P200,000 reward has been offered by Biñan City Mayor Marlyn Alonte for information that would lead the authorities to the whereabouts of the suspect identified as 19-year-old Benigno Nayle. It was believed that Nayle might have fled with a friend, not even his relatives can be found after the crime.

Reyes was brought at once to Perpetual Medical Center but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Records from police revealed that the suspect already has previous charges of physical injury, direct assault, and robbery.

Police has launched an operation in pursuit of the suspect.
