Crame Detention Cells Readied for ‘Pork’ Senators

The Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame is ready to accommodate the three senators and other lawmakers facing plunder charges for the P10-billion pork barrel scam.

The prison complex, which has recently been renovated, is secured by a six-meter-high wall with barbed wires, while the windows have prison railings, ABS-CBN reported.

The detention facility has eight cells and can accommodate 16 detainees. Each room is said to be about 20 to 30 square meters and has no air-conditioning. Each room, however, has a single bed and its own restroom, the news network’s sources shared.

Another building in the prison complex that used to detain high-profile detainees like Rizal Alih and Lintang Bedol, has also been prepared, supposedly for Janet Lim Napoles’s co-accused in the plunder case.
