MMDA Implements New Odd-Even Scheme for EDSA Provincial Buses

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has started implementing the new odd-even scheme for provincial buses plying Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA).

Starting today, Oct. 28, provincial buses may pass through three of the four tunnels along EDSA as MMDA seeks to ease traffic congestion along the highway this coming Undas (All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days) and in anticipation of the Christmas holidays.

Under the scheme, provincial buses may pass through Shaw Boulevard, P. Tuazon and Aurora Boulevard but are not allowed to pass the EDSA-Ayala tunnel.

Those with plate numbers ending in 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 may use the tunnels from Monday to Wednesday while buses whose plate numbers end in 2, 4, 6, 8, and 0 may use the tunnels from Thursday to Saturday.

Violators will be fined P500.
