Speeding Car Kills NLEX Guard

A security guard was killed after he was hit by a speeding car on the westbound lane of the North Luzon Expressway exit in Barangay Parada, Valenzuela City on Thursday.

Police reports said the victim, Gaudencio Gonzaga, 38, and a resident of Pandacan, Manila, was manning his post around 4 p.m. when he was hit by a Honda Civic car (UOK-361).

Gonzaga died on the spot due to severe injuries.

The car’s driver, Edison Hilario, a 19-year-old student from Obando, Bulacan, was apprehended by Gonzaga’s colleagues and turned over to authorities.

Hilario was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
