Philippine Police Crack Down on Illegal Aliens: Over 100 Chinese Nationals Deported

In a decisive move showcasing the strength of Philippine law enforcement and its firm stance on national security, around 100 Chinese nationals formerly employed by Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) were deported to China on Tuesday morning.

The operation, conducted in coordination with the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), reflects the government’s intensified crackdown on foreign nationals involved in illegal activities, particularly those linked to criminal syndicates and financial crimes.

According to a report by GMA News’ Saleema Refran, the deportation was carried out at approximately 10:40 a.m., with the airfare funded by the Chinese government to prevent any escape attempts.

“It’s important to them because they gain a lot of intelligence from the bosses—how they operate, where they operate, and what money laundering systems are used,” explained PAOCC Executive Director Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz.

A Strategic Strike on Organized Crime

The deportation of these individuals is not only a blow to criminal networks operating under the guise of POGOs but also a clear signal that the Philippine government is serious about restoring order and upholding the law. These operations often reveal links to money laundering, human trafficking, and cybercrime, all of which threaten the country’s internal security.

With information extracted from apprehended individuals, authorities can trace the intricate operations of transnational criminal groups. This intelligence is crucial in disrupting syndicates and protecting Filipinos from being unwittingly caught in their schemes.

Safety and Sovereignty at the Forefront

This latest deportation effort reinforces the role of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Immigration (BI), and PAOCC as frontline defenders of Philippine sovereignty. It sends a strong message: the country will not tolerate foreign nationals who violate immigration laws and compromise public safety.

The operation also reassures the public that law enforcement agencies remain vigilant and capable of identifying, arresting, and removing individuals who pose a threat to national security.

Building Public Trust Through Action

While concerns over criminality related to foreign POGO workers have raised alarm among citizens, this proactive approach by the government helps rebuild public confidence. The success of such high-profile deportations proves that the system can work—and is working—to safeguard the Filipino people. As the Philippines continues to navigate complex international dynamics, one thing remains clear: public safety will always be a top priority. And with continued coordination between agencies and global partners, the country is better positioned than ever to respond to threats within its borders.
