The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Friday (May 11) said an Inter-tropical Convergence Zone is affecting Mindanao and a tail end of a cold front is affecting extreme Northern Luzon.
In its 5 a.m. update, Pagasa said the weather condition will bring cloudy skies with widespread rain showers and thunderstorms in Southern Luzon and Visayas.
An 11 a.m. update, meanwhile, said that due to the ITCZ, Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms. Residents living in low-lying areas and along mountain slopes are advised to be on alert for possible occurrence of flashfloods and landslides.
Pagasa also said the western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas will experience cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms, which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
The rest of the country will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Light to moderate winds blowing from the North to Northwest will prevail over Luzon and coming from the Northwest to west over the rest of the country.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, Pagasa said.
